Anybody got a picture of Rob (Robert) Riess playing pro hockey? Played
in the WHA for the Winnipeg Jets system. Also played pro in the German
leagues 70's and early 80's. Played for 1980-81 Duisburg SC. Need a
picture for a birthday present for him.

Alas, no picture.

But I did come across a ton of newspaper articles covering Riess'
high-scoring play during the 1971-72 seasons in Winnipeg, although it
appears to have been for a Junior League.  In some of the articles,
Riess is the headliner, such as this one:

I'm trying to track down the year(s) he played with the WJ to start a
search but the IHDB.com has no record of him (and it is a fairly
complete database??!!)

Can you identify the year(s) he played with the Jets?

I have gone through the roster for every year the Jets were in the WHA
and don't see him listed.

You say he was playing 'for the Winnigpeg Jets SYSTEM'...does that
mean he NEVER played for them and was on a minor affiliate or was
drafted by them and never suited up?

If THAT is the case it might be very difficult to find a picture
(unless someone has a minor league program that they saved!).

I need a picture. I already have a bunch of these articles. I don't
think he was ever on Jets roster. I think he was involved with their
minor league system though. I know he played for other teams in the
German leagues as he was a big star over there.
