I would like a link to a complete online Bible (including Old and New Testaments), preferably in easy to print out form or (ideally) as a Word document. One thing, though: the bible can't have the versed listed, the way every bible I've ever seen does, e.g., "18) And Abraham begot Isaac. 19) And Isaac begot Jacob," etc. No no. Straight text, with no numbers indicated. I find the numbers a whopping annoyance and would simply like to read the thing straight through, without any distractions. I'm not too particular about the translation, but would prefer the King James. If you can't find something like this online, a link to a print version for sale would also sate me. |

Hi gnossie-ga, I also couldn't find something like this online, so I have prepared a version to meet your requirements. I started by using the public domain text of the King James version available from Project Gutenberg: The Bible, Old and New Testaments http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/10 I then used the bulk-search-and-replace feature of the KDE Advanced Text Editor to remove the verse numbers. The resulting file is in text form, and can be easily loaded into Word or printed out. The line lengths are already suitable for easy reading. The file will be available for download for 30 days as file kjv10.txt from this web page: answers eSnips Folder http://esnips.com/web/answers I trust this meets your requirements. If not, please request clarification. Happy reading! Regards, eiffel-ga Google Search Strategy: project.gutenberg bible ://www.google.com/search?q=project.gutenberg+bible |

It is very difficult to read the Bible from cover to cover as a novel. In some instances the same incident is recorded twice, each in separate books. And all the action is not in order of time. You would find yourself getting confused as to the time-line. The purpose of the numbers is to be able to cross reference scriptures from different books, so that one supports the other. And even though it was men, inspired, who wrote and numbered the Bible, IF the present system was not approved by God, He would make sure it was altered or changed. Revelation 22;18 ?I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; 19 and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll". |

Check out www.e-sword.net... it is an excellent resource for what you are looking for and has a variety of Bibles with what you are looking for. Might need to check out some of the downloadable versions to find the one you want. It's all downloadable for free... but he does take donations. Let me know what you find out. |
