trying to research family heritage for Walsh family in Buncrana in the mid -late 1800's. Looking for resources to help track the family and to identify the catholic parishes in Buncrana at that time. more info: I know the father thomas was a "sub-constable" and they had several children. I belive they were Catholic. Father Thomas - wife Bridget Cosgrove - children i know of (thomas & Joseph born 1871 and 1869) |

I'm from Buncrana, and I know of at least one Walsh family - although I'm sure they are not orginally from Buncrana; and I'm not too sure that there are too many indiginous Walshes in the locality. Is so happens that the local parish priest is Fr. John Walsh (although he's not from the town). He may be able to help you. I know that the email address of the parish office is buncranaparish@eircom.net, so you could send an enquiry his way. Regards Janet Buncrana |

It might be worth something to put a message up on the Buncrana.com geneology message board: http://www.buncrana.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=2 which is part of the Buncrana website: http://www.buncrana.com/index.php. |
