Hello, Thank you so much for your help. I found these "worms" on the
floor of my bathroom and kitchen (probably about 20 in all). In
trying to research it on line I came across this woman's question to
you.>>'What is the "worm" I found (found 6 of them) on my son's
carpet? It is about
1/8 to 1/4 inch long, pale yellow with a chubby body and a
rust-colored pointed tip. I'm thinking it's some kind of larva from a
carpet eating pest. Can you provide information about the types of
bugs it is likely to be, and why it is in my house.' This describes
what I found very well but the answer you gave doesn't make sense in
my case. I have a dog, but he was just at the vet and completely
healthy. No signs of parasites or worms, etc.. Could this be anything
else? Also, The pictures that were provided didn't match up either.
If it helps... when I squished them they kind of popped, as if it has
a thick casing. I would appreciate any help. The idea of these
things in my house is VERY disturbing. Thank you so much.

Various kinds of beetle larvae might meet your description.

Did your critters resemble this one?
