What is a typical compensation package for a electrical engineer
(chemical and materials eng are also close enough) at a startup in
Silicon Valley? Specifically, the candadate has a Ph.D. from a top
university and 1.5 years of working experience. The startup just
received series C funding with multiple VC's bidding on it. The
startup currently has about 30 people. The candidate is highly sought
by the startup, but candidate doesn't have any specialized knowledge
that the company absolutely has to have.
I am mainly concerned with the salary and stock options package.
However, please also let me know any other compensation items that I
should consider/negotiate. For the stock options, please include the
amount as a percentage of outstanding shares along with any other
information I should know, such as vesting schedule, strike price,
etc. |
