I'm looking to purchase my first road bike and I want to spend $2500
or less for the complete bike. I don't want a hybid style bike. I
want a versatile bike for fitness (I
need to loose some weight), training for events (centuries, etc),
and possibly road racing in the future. I know much depends on
personal preference when choosing a bike, but it would help to have
the field narrowed down a bit.

Thanks,

Chris Lang

probably the best place for you to go is Nytro in San Diego, check out
nytro.com, personally, I would go for either Trek madone or
Specialized Tarmac.

Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into both of those options.
