On September 11th, 2001, some gas stations in the Midwest US (Oklahoma
and Louisiana I believe) raised prices of gas to $2.00 and even $5.00
a gallon immediatly after the attacks. Some time after that, those
statwere fined $10,000 for (i believe) price gouging. I'm looking for
information on that lawsuit: Details of the Lawsuit, the grounds for
the $10,000 fine.

Gas Gouging After September 11
I was living in St. Louis at the time, so I happened to know that at
least one of the states in which this happened was Missouri. However,
most of the fines were for $1,000, although some of the businesses had
to pay considerably more.
