I am interested in opening a store that specializes in photography equipment. From cameras, digital and film, film. ink jet papers, some darkroom supplies (digital and film), printers, etc. How do I find suppliers for such stuff. I am thinking of a store that is a more specialized then B and H photo here in Manhattan. More like their original store before they became a mega store but smaller. |

It might be worth seeing what Photo Marketing Association International (a major industry organization for the photography trade) might offer potential retailers: http://www.pmai.org The PMAI holds an annual trade show; it may be worth attending as part of your research in opening your shop. Also, many manufacturers of photography equipment use independent sales reps to sell their wares. You might find a local sales rep who might be able to provide some insights to you. The PMAI website I think has a searchable member directory that might help you get started there... |
