What will the average upload and download speed will be for a typical home user using broadband in 5 years? Interested in both wired (e.g. through cable) and wireless answers (e.g. speeds through wimax) A good answer might approach this a couple of different ways E.g. 1) extrapolating from historical upload / download speeds (for consumers)or 2) based on advances due to a migration to a certain technology (e.g. fiber optics to the house). BTW. I'm using this to work out the technical feasibility of letting users uploading a large amount of their data to a website. NB. This is for an average consumer - not someone paying a ton of money for a business line. I'm not interested in P2P protocols |
