I need to know from the most detailed and reliable data point
obtainable what the relationship is between parents who drink and how
it affects the likelihood of the children being drinkers as well. I
would like to know statistical increases like at the age of 18 a male
who was raised in a home where the parents drank has a___________
percent chance of becoming a drinker over the same child raised in a
nondrinking house.
If you are going to copy and paste all whole bunch of data please try
to keep it relative to the subject question. |

I assume you're asking about problem drinking that can readily lead to
alcoholism (there are very few households that are "nondrinking" in
the sense that no one ever has a drop of alcohol).
If you had some other sort of drinking in mind, please let me know by
posting a clarification.
Thanks.

Gapgapgap,
Please download the following study.
http://www.phc.bris.ac.uk/phcdb/pubpdf/pubs/365.pdf
Take a look at table 1 on page 3.
"Alcohol consumption by adolescents of parents with and without
alcohol problems."
Does the information in this study answer your question or do you need
additional material?
Regards,
Bobbie7

gapgapgap,
Thanks for the clarification, but --did you look at the study that
bobbie7 provided above? It seems to be exactly what you asked for, and
she would like to know if you looked at it, and if so, does it answer
your question?
