most of the email provider's server automatically removes the sound
embedding codes.

still it works in some email providers like yahoo and that too if the
client(reader),  uses IE browser.

The sound file must be from a server and not from your computer.
plesae try using a sound file from my server

Type this code in a text editor and save as a html file.

<p><bgsound src = "http://www.love-feelings.com/hello/r_hello.mid"
loop="-1"></p><P>
<embed src = "http://www.love-feelings.com/hello/r_hello.mid"
autostart="true" hidden="true" loop="true" ></p>

attach this file in your email as an attachement.

the reader will hear this background music while he reads the mail.

to add more spice you can try the following html file and save it in your computer.
then attach this html file in your email with the subject heading "hello"

<TABLE width=600 align=center bgcolor="#feeeee">
  <TBODY>
  <TR>
    <TD>
      <P><embed src = "http://www.love-feelings.com/hello/r_hello.mid"
autostart="true" hidden="true" loop="true" ></embed></p>
<p><bgsound src = "http://www.love-feelings.com/hello/r_hello.mid"
loop="-1">    </p>

<P>

<center><font color="#ff9900" size=5> <u>Hello</u></font></center><p>
<font size=4 color="#2000ff"><center>
I've been alone with you inside my mind
<BR>And in my dreams I've kissed your lips a thousand times
<BR>I sometimes see you pass outside my door
<BR>Hello, is it me you're looking for?
<BR>
<BR>I can see it in your eyes
<BR>I can see it in your smile
<BR>You're all I've ever wanted, (and) my arms are open wide
<BR>'Cause you know just what to say
<BR>And you know just what to do
<BR>And I want to tell you so much, I love you ...
<BR>
<BR>I long to see the sunlight in your hair
<BR>And tell you time and time again how much I care
<BR>Sometimes I feel my heart will overflow
<BR>Hello, I've just got to let you know
<BR>
<BR>'Cause I wonder where you are
<BR>And I wonder what you do
<BR>Are you somewhere feeling lonely, or is someone loving you?
<BR>Tell me how to win your heart
<BR>For I haven't got a clue
<BR>But let me start by saying, I love you ...
<BR>

the message will get displayed in the reader's browser along with the sound file.

Please note this works in yahoo.
sure not in Gmail, rediff.......

and let me know if it works in any other email servers
