Financial managers use the "Lipper Quartile Ratings of Mutual Funds"
which lists the performance of each mutual fund against the
performance of other funds in the same category, such as small cap
value, large cap growth, etc. Is this available on the internet and,
if so, what is the web site? I am interested in this even if a
subscription fee is required.

Dear 12frank34-ga,

I believe you are seeking the product supplied by Lipper Inc. I think
it appears on this product page of their site. There are several other
products which may also be what you are seeking. Registration is
required to obtain further information and the cost is not shown.

The home page is below, but please note that it does not work that
well in Mozilla Firefox, but is OK in Internet Explorer.

This is what an investment company states about Lipper Inc.:
"About Lipper Ratings
Learn from independent ratings.
Lipper Inc. has earned an excellent reputation in the mutual fund
industry as an independent-analysis company that provides peer-based
mutual fund comparisons in the form of relative rankings. Lipper
provides relative rankings of mutual funds. It ranks mutual funds
according to a peer-based performance system, which measures returns
according to specific time frames and fund classifications (small,
mid, multi and large-cap)."

I hope this answers your question. If it does not, or the answer is
unclear, then please ask for clarification of this research before
rating the answer. I shall respond to the clarification request as
soon as I receive it.
Thank you
