What is the average attorney fee for a successful accident claim? What should it NOT be "more than"? I live in Louisiana and was recently awarded a large sum after a mediation. I'm curious to know how much of it I'm likely to be required to pay the attorney. I am a single mom of two and currently poor as a haint, so will someone please answer this question for the low price of $2.00? I would be very grateful. Thank you very much. |

You should have discussed the fee BEFORE you hired the lawyer. Did you sign any paperwork with the lawyer? If so, see if that has your answer. |

In a personal injury case, the fee is generally 33% prior to trial and 40% at time of trial. But I would tend to agree, that whatever is contained in your fee agreement that would govern. |
