Hi, I can answer that question - a BAPI is technically identical with an RFC and that with a function module. What qualifies a function module as an RFC is it's communcation settings (i.e. function module can be called from a program outside SAP). What qualifies an RFC as a BAPI is sap's commitment to support the function module in that specific form, to keep it intact in future releases and it's addition to the bapi catalogue/bapi network. As you can see, bapis and rfc are not alternative technologies, anybody who claims to be able to measure performance advantages, is giving you bad advice. Let me know if you have any additional questions. Morgenlandfahrer-ga |

Hi Nancy, btw., if you want to know how to benchmark the performance of a specfic bapi in comparison with a 'custom' rfc, I can help. Just open another question. Regards, Morgenlandfahrer |
