Before a massive trojan attack I had my laptop setup so that I did not have to listen to that horrible MS jingle when the computer was being switched on or off. I've forgotten how I got Rid of them. Can you help before I throw my laptop across the room!! Fortunately I spend 99% of my computer time using my new RISCOS machine linked with Virtual Acorn running as a program on my laptop only when essential so most of the time I can stay sane. Thanks |

Hi roofawdry, To disable the Windows login and logoff sounds, follow these instructions: Go to Start > Settings > Control Panels. Select "Sounds and Audio Devices". Click on the "Sounds" tab. Under Program events, scroll down to Start Windows, Windows Logon and Windows Logoff. For each of these, under Sounds, choose the top one which is None. Click Apply > OK. I hope this is helpful. If you have any questions regarding my answer please don?t hesitate to ask before rating. Best regards, Rainbow |
