I know you have addressed IQ and religion but has there been tests to show say the avg IQ of a baptist, a methodist, buddist, catholic, unitarian, moslem ..etc, etc... Im interest in what religion has people with average highest IQ and down to the religion with lowest. I agree people of any IQ is capable of believing in God , but its the way some people or religious sects believe that makes me wonder how intelligent they are. |

Good question, maybe not politically correct, but a good question. I expect that the athiests and agnostics may think that they demonstrated the highest IQs, but we know some seriously Christian Researchers here who are members of Mensa. Ideology transcends intellect. Just as there are/have been some extremely intelligent criminals, I expect that in all religions and sects there can be found people with high IQs. (Please, I am not equating these persons with criminals.) Intelligent Design seems to me to be defended by persons who demonstrate a high IQ, but who either have blinders to science - or maybe are playing a sophistic game, knowing they are arguing against facts they accept, but enjoying the intellectual exercise of taking the ID side. |
