Help me name my business... I am starting a new business in Louisiana
and need some help coming up with a name. The company will sell wire
rope and rigging supplies, hydraulic hose and fittings and offer
safety seminars to construction workers. Please, if you can come up
with anything, let me know!

I though about Rig It Safe, Safety Connections, Fluid Power Safety...etc...

Drat it, the "R" is supposed to be over the "I."

My experience is that these types of suggestion qesutions rarely work.
This is why many researchers avoid them. To date I have had at least
one of my "name" recommendations accepted as an answer and that says a
lot I suppose since most of naming suggestions are rejected. Having
said that, I'll give it a shot. Here are my suggestions:

Safeguard Systems

Safeguard Technologies

Cordage Technologies

Lanyard Safety Systems

Lifeline Systems

Lifeline Safety Solutions

Let me know what you think.

Oddly, or perhaps not, I have spent quite a lot of time wondering
about brand names.

I have come to the conclusion that descriptive brand names are naff
(actually I got there 25 years ago)

Consider this
In a small area advertize:

   Heinz (fix drains)

Also, PBB (in decreaseing type on the side of a van) We supply wire
rope, rigging supplies and hydraulic hose - if you cannot read this
then visit your optician.

You have probably heard of Ear Worms, now 'jingles', there are other
things that can be be exploited - mnemonics and totally unrelated
names

Perhaps I'm wrong but a name like 'FixRite' is eclipsed by something like 'JCB'

Think about it

I haven't got any suggestions for names... But I would suggest this;

1) Choose a name that can be pronounced easily.
2) ...can be written easily (for checks and such)
3) ...isn't too generic ('The Rigging Guys' might seem good, but it is
a term that could also apply to any competitor).
4) ...isn't too dependent on a clever logotype.

Hope that helps.
