Hi, I'm looking for a feature story that ran in the New York Times Magazine approximately 5-8 years ago. It was about two men who began collaborating on design projects -- I remember a very carefully designed, modernist-style chair in particular. I don't think they were professional designers, but rather enthusiastic hobbyists who became obsessive about getting these projects just right. It may be that the focus of the story was on one of the men, who then found the perfect collaborator in a manufacturer or craftsperson. That's all I can recall, other than that it was a very good story. I don't need the full-text, just the citation. Thanks. |
