Hi, I've tried it on the WinXP Remote Desktop Discussion Group and the
thread has 19 entries now but it sees to be unsolvable there to just
use this Remote Assistance with somebody else online. The other one
(my son) has WinXP Pro on his computer too. We can easyly connect by
MSN, so it's not an online thing, and I've done all what was requested
by the discussion forum members, but it still won't work.

Who can connect with me by phone and step me throug the process ?

WinXP's remore admin capability is all good and well, but I use
LogMeIn Pro. They have a FREE LogMeIn as well, it's crippled in the
sense that you can ONLY do remote access, all the other features are
not available: file transfer. file share, print to local computer,
etc, but the remote portion is TOTALLY FREE and ROCKS!!

I am a freelance business admin and use this on 3 computers to be able
to work from home 75% of the time...

LogMeIn (try it!)

You get 2 hours of the Pro Version before it reverts to the free
version. It's extremely easy to use. I wrote a blurb about it here:

I would guess that Network Address Translation is messing you up.

If you have a router that can do NAT I would enable this as it can
ruin remote assistance.

I would be more than happy to help you but there really isn't a
question being explained here.

If you are trying to connect from behind your firewall to a computer
on the same network everything should work fine. If you are working
behind a firewall and trying to request help from an outside person
than you are going to run into problems and it has NOTHING to do with
NAT. It has EVERYTHING to do with the way Remote Assistance works.
