I haven't heard this song in years. I know it has a countdown like
3,2,1 in the chours and i think the countdown is to a bomb. I also
believe one of the main lines in the song is "the countdowns on". I'ts
from the late 80s early 90's. I've search, but can not figure it out.

Two possibilities:

"Rival Leader," by The Exploited. Released on vinyl in 1983, and again

Another possibility (less likely; more a ballad than a bomb song):
"Major Tom (Coming Home)," by Peter Schilling. Dates back to 1983, but
according to the page below, the song was on a number of 80s
