What under $1100 laptops run the coolest (won?t cook your lap)?

Is there a comparison chart that shows which laptops run the coolest.
What I mean by this is which won?t heat up your lap as much? The last
few I used felt like a hot iron on my lap. It doesn?t matter in the
winter, but when the temp is over 100 degrees outside and I am in
shorts, I don?t want something hot on my lap.

Someone must have some recommendations or have done tests to see what
laptop run cooler then others.

I am looking for one under $1100, and prefer a Dell.
It would be nice to have a Dual Core processor. Does those add to the
heat output of the laptop (as compared to a Pentium M?)

Thanx in advnce

I have checked into this and the coolest laptop from Dell is the Inspiron 6000.

However I have found that you are able to purchase something called a
Lapinator from the following website

http://www.lapinator.com/

which will protect your legs from the heat of the laptop while you are using it.

I would personally NOT advise the Latitude D510 as I believe this to
be the hottest laptop I have ever used.

I just checked the UK Dell website and here is a list of their laptops

http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/results.aspx/notebooks?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&~ck=anav&a=20137~0~91955&navla=20137~0~91955

They have the Inspiron 6400 available, perhaps you could get that
shipped to the US?

After speaking to Dell directly it seems as though they have started
making a new cooling technology called the BTX, it is basically a
blower technology which is appearing in newer laptops (The Inspiron
E1505 laptop has this) which keeps the laptop and hard drive cooler
than what you would find in models of Dell laptops.

To see this laptop check here

http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/entnb_e1505?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19

That is the coolest laptop Dell make.

Hope this helps.

As a side note, this laptop ALSO can be shipped with a Dual Core
processor if you so require.
