The question and answer above related to 2003, are there any newer
stats on the total number of drug prescriptions filled for 2004 and
2005 in the US, and the breakdown by fullfilment channel?

Get number of prescription issued and fullfilled for the EU and Asia
over the same time period.

In relation to the above question and counterfeiting... What are the
top 10 revenue generating product lines for each major manufacturer
globally and what revenue does each represent? That will put the
counterfeiting data in more relevant context.

Finally... What are the drivers for fighting counterfeiting for the
supply chain components?  Specifically;
1. Manufacturers - They want to protect their brand, increase their
revenue and ensure the safetu of their customers. What else?
2. Wholesalers and Distributors - They want to be seen as good
citizens, but it is hard to see what incentive they have to put in
place costly anti-counterfeit measures.
3. Pharmacies - They want to ensure they are selling safe drugs. What
else would encourage them to verify that their drugs are legitimate,
or does the fact they buy from a known wholesaler meet that
requirement?
4. Consumers - Are they really aware there is a problem? The risk is
minimal in the US if they buy from pharmacies. Would consumers go to
a reliable source for drugs or are prices the biggest driver for drug
purchases?

Hello mikep1234-ga,

I answered the prior question on drug counterfeiting but I will not
attempt to answer your current question as it's posted since you have
several complex questions that will require extensive research grouped
together here.

I suggest that you close this question and post separate questions for
the various topics you're looking for. That way several researchers
can be working on your question at the same time and you maximize the
chances of getting at least a partial answer in case some of the
topics you're looking for can't be answered.

1) Number of prescriptons issued and filled.
2) Top revenue generating product lines.
3) Drivers for fighting counterfeiting.

Best wishes for your project.
