lindakb, Since this doesn't directly answer your question I can't post it as an answer. But this article from the UK Serious Fraud Office (located at http://www.sfo.gov.uk/publications/pdfs/AnRep02.pdf in PDF format, or viewable in HTML via Google at http://216.239.33.100/search?q=cache:-EzzIKPKQFoC:www.sfo.gov.uk/publications/pdfs/AnRep02.pdf+%22George+Steen%22+fraud&hl=en&ie=UTF-8 ) may contain information related to your search: "R v Dennis Alexander, David Andrews and George Steen The above three defendants, and a fourth, were charged in November and December 2000 with conspiracy to defraud. (The fourth person is now deceased). It is alleged that the defendants operated an advance fee fraud, which was administered through Corporate Advances Ltd, Brighton and Peninsular Holdings of Panama Ltd, Darlington. The trial is to open at Southwark Crown Court on 25 November 2002. Investigation conducted with the Sussex and the Durham police forces." If this is the same George Steen, there's a good chance that there is no Philipine Finance to verify. |

Firstly, "Philippines" is the name of the country and so your spelling may be incorrect (I tried both spelling in searches). Another useful link may be http://www.thisisbrighton.co.uk/brighton__hove/archive/2000/12/06/NEWS145ZM.html which is a local newspaper in the south of the UK. I could not the find 'company' listed at either the FSA register http://www.fsa.gov.uk/register/html/prof_fsa_fram.html - the FSA is the umbrella organisation that must organise practically any financial company in the UK, nor at the companies house database. http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/info/ If you have any suspicion at all that this may be a current financial fraud I suggest you contact one or all of the Serious Fraud office ( http://www.sfo.gov uk ), the FSA (http://www.fsa.gov.uk ) There are numerous Hanover Houses across London. Either a postcode or area of London is needed to confirm which one the company is apparently located in. |
