The 1963 Egypian film Saladin, directed by Youssef Chahine is said to
be based upon a novel by Naguib Mahfouz. Which one?

Sorry to further clarify-- I know that the novel is called "El Naser
Salah el Dine". I simply need to find a copy in English.

Here is a catalogue of Mahfouz's works available in English
translation (novels and short stories), as published on the website of
the Libraries of the AUC (American University in Cairo). There does
not seem to be an English version of that particular title yet, unless
the English title has no resemblance at all to the Arabic title.

I agree with thursdaylast23 ... this novel does not appear to have
made it into an English translation. See:

The chances are that the subject matter would not appeal to English audiences.

It is not listed in the British Libary collection.
