I am looking for a part for a 1992 Chrysler New Yorker Salon. The part
I need to replace was ruined by Katrina where water got into a portion
of the part.
In order to make sure I am getting the correct part, please note my
present problems because the part does not function: Now, the
automatic door locker/unlocker by the driver?s door will unlock the
doors, but it will not lock them; the bell that rings when the
driver?s door is opened and the headlights are still on, the warning
bells that warn that the headlights are still on does not work (so the
left-on headlights could drain the battery); the remote for
controlling the side view mirrors does not work; and the headlight
covers that normally open and close when the headlights are turned on
and off do not close when the headlights are turned off - the covers
stay open when the lights and the ignition are turned off.
According to a Chrysler dealership, Chrysler?s part number is 4686056.
I believe it is called the body control module, but I am not positive
that is the name of the part. The part that I need to replace has two
separate female inputs for two separate male connectors that connect
two sets of wires from the passenger-side door area. So it is
important that the replacement has the two inputs.
I am including the extra details to make certain that Chrysler gave me
the correct part number.
I have contacted two used part suppliers and both said they had the
part and it would cost about $85. However, it turned out that they did
not actually have the part and they could not find it.
I will be very happy if you can tell me where I can obtain the part
for around $85 - $100 (or somewhat more). It is important that you
confirm that the supplier actually has the part in stock and that it
meets my description.
I do not want to have another delay and frustration in having a
supplier say that it has the part when it does not.
Please also confirm that it is for a 1992 Chrysler New Yorker Salon
and has two female inputs for two connectors. |
