How do you translate the expression "de primeras dadas" into English?
I believe it has to do with the card game mus.

expression meaning something like "at first", as I suspect? If the

Yes, it can also mean "at first". 

However, a google search for "de primeras dadas" shows that it isn't
used very frequently.
