my dsl for my internet connection works fine. the internet phone
service works well. the problem is, i can use one or the other. they
will not work together.to use the phone i must turn off the computer
and vice versa.
what is the solutin to my problem?

Do you have Windows XP?  And how are things cabled?  Like what
equipment do you have plugged into what?

Chances are you either need a router, a new router, or upgrade your
firmware on your router.  Also look for a firmware upgrade on you
modem.  What is basically happening is the IP address that you modem
assigns is not assigning to both your pc, and you phone.  Upgrading
will usually do the trick.

are you sure that you have a "dsl splitter"? this seperates the dsl
from the line. it tells the computer which line to use.
