I have a voice message that I have kept on my mobile phone for a
couple of years from an estranged relative that I would like to keep
but transfer to my PC and take it off my phone. Any ideas how I can do
this please? Any free software available? Nothing too complicated
please! |

What mobile phone do you have?
The best option I feel is to get a microphone, stick it right next to
the ear piece and record the message into Sound recorder in Windows
XP.
If the message is stored on the actual phone a blue tooth file
transfer would move the file from A to B.

Sorry, I should have mentioned it. The mobile phone is a Sony Ericcson
T68i(with Bluetooth) and my PC is XP Home. (I also have an HP dv1599EA
Laptop with Bluetooth if that would help. Many thanks.

The easiest way to complete this would be to perform BlueTooth file
transfers from your Phone to your PC (assuming the soudn files are on
your phone).
Is that the case or are the sound files stored externally to the phone?

Sound files on the phone? Regret, I'm a greenhorn with all this. I
have something on the phone called 'sounds and effects' but I doubt
that is what you have in mind. Where would I start? I certainly have
nothing external to the phone.

Hi Keystroke, have just spotted that you're in the UK, same here-if
that is of any help.

Hi wavey,
I'm not in the UK right now, although I used to be!
The sound files are the files you wish to get off your phone, the
voice messages. Are they stored on your phone or do you have to dial
your voicemail system in order to listen to them?

Thank you. The message is stored on my phone. I do not have to go to voice-mail.

Do you know how to use bluetooth?

Not really. I have an remote earpiece I use when driving, so that I do
not handle the phone, which I believe works on bluetooth. However I'm
sure I could eventually work it out.
