Question ID: 751471
I have a new Nokia E61 and a Cingular cell phone plane w/ unlimited
data. I also have a Dell Latitude D600 w/ bluetooth and Ubuntu Dapper
Drake installed.

How do I establish a GPRS connection from my laptop to the phone over
bluetooth so that I can browse the internet on my laptop using my
Cingular data plan?

Assume that I have gotten it to the point that my laptop can see and
connect to the phone over bluetooth. I also have the basic GPRS
connection over bluetooth established, but receive a disconnect
everytime I try to connect:

#sudo pon gprs
Serial connection established.
using channel 2
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/rfcomm0
...
PAP authentication succeeded
...
rcvd [LCP TermReq id=0x1]
LCP terminated by peer
sent [LCP TermAck id=0x1]
Connection terminated.
Modem hangup

Here is my /etc/chatscripts/gprs file:

'' AT
TIMEOUT 240
OK ATE0
OK ATV1
OK 'AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","ISP.CINGULAR"'
#OK ATDT*99***1#
OK ATDT*99#
TIMEOUT 30
CONNECT ""

And here is my /etc/ppp/peers/gprs file:

hide-password
noauth
connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/chatscripts/gprs"
debug
/dev/rfcomm0
115200

I need this done by this Friday (3 days from now) for it to be truly
useful to me... And it doesn't need to be GPRS - I just want to
connect to the internet from my laptop using the Cingular cellular
network...
