Hi Can you please tell me how websites such as mysimon.com, kelkoo.co.uk, and shopping.com earn money? Do they add a percentage/fee onto my purchase price or simply charge the merchant a fee for listing with them? Is the technology for delivering price comparisons online (in an instant)complicated? How expensive is it to build this type of back end into a new website? Any answers would be most welcome. Thank you Paul Brewster | |

business model looks like this: 1) monthly fee for listing and/or 2) Pay-Per-Click (when you click on product to see more info on buyer's site) and/or 3) small % fee for succesful redirection (ended with payment), as for as technology: 1) you have to make XML file with description of all your products (with prices). This file is uploaded automatycily once a day (more or less). XML is some kind of standard, but in some situations there is other synchronization method. best regards, Sylwester |
