Is there a text web browser (similar to Lynx) available for the IBM
AS/400 (also known as the AS400 or ISeries)? I have heard of several
people who were planning it but have seen no actual implementations.
Please send me URL's and product names of any that are available, as
well as if they are free and the language they are written in if
possible. A free browser written in Java is preferred but I am
willing to hear about anything. Thanks!

Trailblazer Systems has a browser for the AS/400 called ZMOD Exchange HTTP:

Thanks much.

I'm sorry to say that I've come up empty-handed. I found no text-mode
browsers for the AS400. I did find a several similar inquiries in
Usenet postings over the last few years, including one which I suspect
was from you. I also searched the Lynx developer lists and found only
one message regarding an AS400 port--again, just someone looking, not
any sort of announcement.

I’ve found no evidence that lynx has been successfully ported to the
AS/400, just messages such as this one which indicate that it’s
difficult:

A command-line java application seems like the best hope for this.
Barring that, some sort of telnet connection to a Unix host and then
running lynx from there…

Good luck,

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, that is how far I got as well...
I will definitely check out ZMOD Exchange HTTP so thanks for the tip
