The following doesn't really provide any chronological or logical
history of the band. This is just a collection of details I found
through a basic internet search. Perhaps they will be of some
interest.
"See Me Now" opens Happy Meals 3: Songs to Run Away From, a 2002
punk/pop compilation. Here's the link to the album on Amazon (no
clips; used copies available):

Bright Life was one of the openers when Jimmy Eat World played in Los
Angeles in 2003. According to this brief comment, the band may have
been from Santa Monica:
"Opening bands Bright Life and Taking Back Sunday bravely filled the
earlier slots in the evening (perhaps not so bravely seeing as half of
the crowd seemed to be there for Victory band, Taking Back Sunday).
Bright Life played a brief fifteen-minute set of infectious pop rock
from Santa Monica."

Or they may have been from Santa Barbara, according to a quote someone
posted from Sugarcult's website. The reference is to the Sugarcult
song "Worst December":
"A band from Santa Barbara called Bright Life inspired the music of
this song. I always admired their use of open chords in their rock
songs, something that Sugarcult doesn't do very often." [See last
post on the page for more....]

From a City Beat(Cincinnati weekly)write-up on Rock Kills Kid, who was
one of the openers for Yellowcard on July 18, 2006, in Cincinnati.
According to this comment, Bright Life probably disbanded sometime in
2003, and two former members are now playing in Rock Kills Kid:
"By 2003, he'd written nearly 150 songs and Rock Kills Kid finally
settled on a stable line-up -- Bright Life bassist Shawn Dailey and
keyboardist Reed Calhoun, Stairwell guitarist Sean Stopnik and drummer
Ian Hendrickson."

Here's a link to a recent interview with Reed Calhoun (Bright Life
keyboardist), in which he talks a little about his time with Bright
Life and what happened to him after the band broke up.
