How much do big chain retailers (Starbucks, Gap, Albertsons) spend on marketing per customer per year? Are there any publications that provide that information? One can conceivably back into the number by taking the annual marketing budget of a retailer and divide it by the number of customers the retailer has in a given year. You can get to the number of customers by dividing gross revenue by customer count (number of transactions divided by avg. visit frequency per customer per year) |
