I've been looking for someone who can convert my turn of the century woodstove. I would like to see four electric elements and a griddle installed if that is possible , or just a glass counter-top stove top safely fitted in. It has a four holes (eyes?) on it's surface as well as a water reservior. It is called the "Chrystal Peninsular" manufactured by Clare Bros. & Co. in Preston Ontario. I don't want to ship this heavy beast anywhere, I am looking for someone that is in reasonable driving distance of Hamilton Ontario Canada. Thankyou for your time, K |

Hi, You might ask at this site. I expect that the guy there will think what you have in mind is sacrilege, but maybe not. http://www.canadian-antique-stoves.com/appraisal.htm Personally, I would talk to an electrician who does custom kitchen installations, or just an electrician who is open-minded. To me, it seems quite possible to install individual electric burners in each of the four holes. Of course, it may be tricky fastening them so that they can support a pot full of water, and you will want some kind of waterproofing under the rings, but it shouldn't be impossible. Good luck! |
