Having changed my old IBM Windows 2000 laptop (which was showing its age) for a Dell Inspiron 1300 using Windows XP Home I now find that Canon do not have a driver that will allow the BJC-50 to function under Win XP. I have a Canon BJIFC50 Half Pitch Parallel Cable on back-order with the only British firm that appears to sell them. Would far prefer to get the printer working via my IrDA adaptor. Have seen a couple of comments dated 2003 on various usergroups suggesting various solutions but cannot fathom out how they have done it. Am reasonably PC competent - prefering DOS to Windows in many respoects. Can anyone help me get the printer working on infrared again please? |
