I would like to obtain criminal trial transcripts, particularly
murders, preferably from online sources, however, I'm certainly
willing to send off for them. But I need to be able to browse
somewhere to find trials I might be interested in. If the sources had
abstracts that would be a real bonus. The purpose of this request is
to examine the transcripts as part of a writing project I'm engaged
in.

martinpaulrice-ga,

As a rule of thumb, full trial transcripts aren't posted all that
often, possibly because so few trials are actually transcribed. There
are occasional transcripts scattered about the internet, but few sites
that offer a broad selection.

Perhaps your best bet is this site:

http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/ftrials.htm
Famous Trials

which includes trials throughout history (Socrates to Moussaoui), and
contains a lot of transcript material.

Let me know if that meets your needs.

There are also transcript available of most recent Supreme Court arguments:

http://www.supremecourtus.gov/oral_arguments/argument_transcripts.html

though you have to know which case is which to make the most of it.

Do these two resources, together, get you close to what you needed?
