Specific IT helpdesk related data that I am looking for includes: - Average size of IT helpdesk for companies in the Fortune 500 (and Global 500 or 2000) - Average annual IT budget for companies in the Fortune 500 (and Global 500 or 2000) - Percentage breakdown of the average IT budget for companies in the Fortune 500 (and Global 500 or 2000) - Percentage breakdown of Fortune 500 (and Global 500 or 2000) companies that outsource the IT helpdesk, versus staff it themselves - Average number of employees in the companies in the Fortune 500 (and Global 500 or 2000), and what percent of these employees are knowledge workers - What is the average ratio of numbers of employees to IT helpdesk staff size Would appreciate any rated data that can be used in building a business case for selling software applications into this market. Brian -- I'm pretty familiar with material available on the Help Desk/Call Center markets, yet despair of getting the specific information that you seek. Suggested sources would be Gartner Group; Aberdeen Group; and IDC -- each of which has done a study of the market in the past 12 months.
