Unusual question, especially for a non-hunter, but I am trying to find the names and phone numbers of hunting plantations in the Eastern half of the country, that includes the names, phone numbers of the General Manager of each property, and preferably the addresses. Even a regional list like this for the SOUTHEast would be very helpful. As I understand it, these are typically large plots of land, whereby the plantation may either own the land or may merely lease it for the hunting rights. The plantation then generates revenue by selling "memberships" of one kind or another, either life-time memberships like a country club, or annual or day passes like a public golf course might. | |

Dear Sakauf, Sorry if this isn't a link to a list itself, but this might help. This link may be called Quail Unlimited, but it has a good searchable Hunting Directory. It allows you to select the state and the kind of game (not just quail, even deer and pheasants, or all kinds of game) you want to hunt, and the result is a list of hunting reserves in that state. The list has address and contact info, though no name of the manager. You could probably look up the east coast states and see which hunting reserves you might be looking for. http://www.qu.org/main/huntdir/huntdirectory.cfm Here are some extra links I found in my search. Bp-Outdoors - has another limited list of reserves http://www.bp-outdoors.com/hguide.html Lakeview Plantation, South Carolina. http://www.lakeviewplantation.com/ Heres a list of outdoor sport sites in Florida, which include hunting plantations http://www.outdoorguides.com/outdoor/presgdfl.htm Search strategy: hunting plantation list, hunting plantation directory, hunting reserve directory I hope this answer suited your needs. Have a good day! |

you are right...not a list, but this is the next best thing, and will be VERY helpful. With just a little more administrative work, I expect to get most of the info I need. Thanks! |
