I am a 17 year old male. I have noticed that my right breast has become somewhat enlarged. I saw a doctor and she told me its normal because of the hormone changes that people undergo at my age. I dont think she knew what she was talking about considering that she was trained in a foreign country. I was wondering if it could possibly be anything else? |

I suggest that you get a second opinion from a different physician. I don't mean to alarm you, but breast cancer can occur in males, and a unilateral swelling can be one of the symptoms. Some of the material here may be of interest to you: http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=418751 |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gynecomastia WHY DO PEOPLE NOT TRUST THEIR DOCTORS?! This *is* a typical and normal thing that happens. Please watch it though, I had the same sort of thing that was dismissed as Gynecomastia before, but it later turned out to be an infected sweat gland. (But, yeah, the turning green and yellow and full of puss kind of tipped that off.) If you're fully through all of your sexual development, and you still have a significant breast and it does not go away, you can consider a mamosectomy, (Removal of the breast) which would remove the breast tissue and leave you with a body that you're not uncomfortable with. |
