I have a big 5mb download that is done automatically with the following: <OBJECT ID='PLUG' CLASSID="clsid:556dde35-e955-11d0-a707-000000521900" CODEBASE="http://google.com/someprogram.exe"> </OBJECT> I want a progress bar to be shown to it and want to know how. Here are the requirements of the answer: * CAN use javascript, any html, etc. to get the bytes progress that would be good enough. * must be compatible with at least most recent versions of internet explorer * saying "it is not possible" is not an answer I will pay for. * can NOT use real java, activex, flash, or other things (I already know the solution to have it download a small activex control which in turn downloads the program) because I don't want to lose % of browser compatibility due to many security settings by doing it or have an EXTRA second "install dont install" popup for the user. |
