I HAVE A VB APPLICATION THAT CREATES AN IMPORT CSV FILE FOR OUR ACCOUNTS SOFTWARE - THIS INCUDES A BRANCH CODE FOR EXAMPLE "0609" - WHEN OPENED IN EXCEL IT CONVERTS THIS TO "609" DROPPING THE LEADING ZERO - HOW CAN I FORCE EXCEL TO USE THIS AS TEXT FROM THE VB EXPORT TO CSV - I HAVE ALREADY TRIED PUTTING QUOTES ROUND IT BUT SAME OCCURS |

Hello! In order for Excel to interpret the 0609 (or any other number, of course) as text, you have to add an apostrophe at the beginning, as in: '0609 You should have your application append the apostrophe before any number that is supposed to be used as text.
