Hello kent1-ga,

There is software built into WebEx that allows any participant to
record the session. This functionality is enabled by default, and is
only unavailable if it is explicitly turned off by the company running
the session.

Detailed information on how to use the WebEx Recorder is available
here: http://support.webex.com/SelfServiceWeb/SelfServicePortal.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=ViewArticle&currentIndex=1&articleID=3f12927a-dfde-11d7-bfbe-0003ba2f9166&returnTo=kbResults

I phoned the Customer Care hotline to ask if the feature is turned on
automatically. They said that in most cases it was. They might be able
to tell you whether or not this feature is set up for the company you
are going to be involved with. You can find Toll-Free contact
information here: http://support.webex.com/support/phone-numbers.html

Please let me know if you require any clarification regarding this
answer and I will do my best to further assist you.

Hello kent1-ga,

It appears that the link is dynamically generated. You will need to
click this link: http://support.webex.com/SelfServiceWeb/SelfServicePortal.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=KnowledgeBaseHome
and then do a search for the word: record

The knowledge base article will be the first link under "Possible Solutions".

All the best,

Hello timesme,

The company has turned off recording for viewers. I am looking for a
software besides Webex that can record a Webex session.

Thanks,

Kent

Hello kent1-ga,

Have you thought of asking them to turn this on? There are solutions
available, but they depend largely on how fast your computer is
(processing power) because capturing video and sound from a computer
can be labour intensive.

Here is some software that will work, although the quality you get
will matter greatly on your hardware:

http://www.capturepad.com/

All the best,
