Question ID: 755119
hi, i need a list of all the companies that produce silicon
tetrachloride (STC) as a byproduct in USA and a list of products that
have STC as a byproduct in its production. i am looking for STC that
has around 80% purity or higher and does not contain any oxygen. also,
please include the chemical compositions of the STC listed.
**i do not want scientific grade, electronic grade or fiber optic grade
STC of 99% purity and higher.**

Hello usernametaken1-ga,

How will we recognize that we've found "all the companies" you're
interested in? How big an industry is this and what would be a
reasonably long list of manufacturers? Have you already done some
research? What were your findings so we don't simply repeat the
research you've already done.

As a first time user of Google Answers you might find it helpful to
review these links so you can see what type of results you should
expect at the price you've posted.

hi czh, thanks for the reply. i have not done much research on this
topic yet. i know of some distributors of STC in the US but they
typically produce STC of greater than 99%. let me know if you if that
list would be necessary information. 'all the companies' may be too
vague, sorry. i would be happy if you could find 5 products or
industries that have STC as a byproduct of their manufacturing process
and 5 companies in each industry. i know the semiconductor industry
produces STC as a byproduct but they typically produce STC of a very
high purity and it is not useful to me. the semiconductor industry
might use lower grade STC for as a production input so that might be a
lead to look up. as far as the chemical compositions go, i guess it
would be similar for each industry so if you could find the chemical
composition for one company's STC in each industry, that would be
fine.

the chemical compositions is of the lowest priority, followed by
companies that produce STC as a byproduct. companies should be easy to
find if the product and industry is known. if you can not find 5
products or industries (other than the semiconductor industry) fewer
would be accepted but i would like to have at least 3 products or
industries.

is there a tipping option? i would be very glad to tip generously if
the information is complete and useful to me. i am quite busy with
other things at the moment so i just don't have the time to do the
research. google questions seems like a great idea for a service so i
thought i would try it out. if it works out well, you'll see a lot
more questions from me in the future. if you need more from me, please
let me know. thanks
