Gmail does not work on the home computer. In internet explorer, the
address line keeps flashing with the web address getting longer and
longer. Gmail won't load so you can see your messages. We have used
Tools, options, delete cookies to get it back. But that won't work
anymore. Can anyone help??? |

This happens to me, too. Somewhere in the plethora of URLs being
loaded, which make up the content of the gmail page, it stops
loading. I've found a consistently effective workaround for this
which may also work for you.
When the loading process hangs, highlight the URL which is in
the browser's address bar at that time, and hit the 'go' button
in the browser (usually to the right of the address bar). This
will re-initiate the loading process and the page will finish
loading. As I said, this works every time, for me.
Let me know if this helps, and I'll post a formal answer and
collect the fee...

Your solution didn't work either. The web address for gmail (which I
initially type as either http://www.gmail.com or
https://www.gmail.com) keeps getting longer and longer and never
stops. Husband doesn't want to have to get a new gmail account with
something else. He loves gmail. I'm wondering if I should try
downloading firefox and seeing if he can view that. If this is an
internet explorer problem.

Yes, you could download Firefox and try that. I assume that you have
cleared your temporary internet files and cookies already in Internet
Explorer?
If not, this is something to try and it might fix your problem:
