My question is in the area of home Gardening TOOLS, I bet you never got this asked before!!! I am looking for what they call a long-reach hedge trimmer/cutter, one that will cut smaller size stick-out branches and twigs, that are way up above my head!!! I don?t want electric or gas powered stuff, eg., I have a simple (now) 4-5 foot total length one now, bought for $25.00; the low end is simply a hand grip (2 levers) like you?d squeeze a exercise tool, the high end is a simple scissors like cutter that cuts the high up stuff?..the grip (squeeze end) transfers the ?request? up the 5 foot shaft (pole) to the scissors, it cuts the branch,,,simple, no ropes, no knobs or poles to twist, turn, fight!!! But: its useless at only 4 foot long, I need something that, total pole length, is more like 6-8 foot MINIMUM, even 10 foot?.I found one they claim is a telescopic pole, that can cut/reach a total of 10 feet (ie, 16 feet off the ground) BUT: it is from a Taiwan company (winland-garden.com.tw) who tells me ?this would do it for you? but unfort: they cannot sell it to me, they are the mfg?er only, and I have to be ?in the business? to even get a stab at getting it!!! Apparently it is well used overseas, but no one here (USA) seems to think one needs a cutter like this over 4 foot in length. Even tho, at Home Depot, they have a electric powered one that reaches 12-14 up from the ground, with hedging style ,heavy ackward, cutting blades, so::: If one can cut like this electrically, I would think a simple manual cutter can be had/bought SOMEWHERE/SOMEHOW!!! (Example: the one I found at winland-garden.com.tw) If you visit this page, it is the one pictured that claims a length of 3100mm, which is about 10 feet----compare to my lil 4 foot toy, they both do the same thing, I can email attach pictures if this would help your search. Hope this is full-descriptive of what I need, where/how can one buy/get something like this? Somewhere here in USA, some gardener(s) are prob using one like this right now as I write! thanx (I assume you know me and my email addr I don?t think u want anything here, right?) |
