I'm looking for good tools/software that would analyze freight
transactions histories (more specifically, Less-than-truckload and/or
truckload), i.e. take an Excel dump, and produce reports and analysis
re: lane traffic, state to state traffic, regional traffic, etc. as
well as high-level statistics regarding classes, weights, etc. A list
of tools as well as pricing info would be great.

I'm not sure what package you are running your freight system on, but
you might be able to bypass the Excel step and use MITS Discover from
http://www.mits.com to directly analyse your operational data.
