brandenads-ga,
Here are sources of a few zillion pictures, all of them absolutely free.
Please pay attention to site caveats, however, as some of the pictures
require, e.g., attribution of the photographer, while a few are
limited to non-commercial use.
Most of them, though, are are free and clear for any use at all.
Cheers,
pafalafa-ga

I would like to know if there are any sites that allow you to download
a lot of pictures in one large bulk download. For example, download
one ZIP file and it has 600 individual files in it once unzipped.

brandenads-ga,
There are plenty of bulk download options, but they are all (as far as
I know) commercial options. That is, you have to pay for the files.
Here's an example:

Stock Photography CD Collections: TIFF & JPEG
...All Photo CDs may be downloaded directly and/or received by mail
I can certainly find a few more of these for you, but I first want to
confirm that this is what you need.
Let me know what you think.

This is pretty much it, however I think there would be some free sites
lurking around on the Internet. Hey, if some photomossaic programs are
freeware, it stands to reason some image collections are freeware.
Please note: See if there are any sites run by photomossaic
enthusiasts. Yes some of these are done commercially, but with the
availiblity of do-it-yourself programs, there's got to be some
hobbyists, and someone who knows how to get bulk graphics for cheap or
free.
Don't just limit yourself to the professionals! a file such as
DavesGrandCanyonVacationPhotos.zip is just as valid, and may not be on
any graphic's site, but rather a user's personal website.
Please review the sites you gave in the answer also. If they have
pictures that are 100% free and clear, maybe they have a download
funciton that lets you select several and download them together,
rather than doing it one-by-one.
To make things easier for you, you may also try searching for sites
that tell you how to create photomossaics. They may provide links to
what I need.
Hope this helps.

brandenads-ga,
Your clarification has turned out to be tougher than expected, and I'm
afraid I may be out of time. I'm leaving town on travel, and I don't
know if I'll have internet access for a while.
I've looked at photo sites, software sites, and photomosaic/collage
sites, but haven't found the kind of free bulk download you're
seeking.
If you feel like you'd like to have another researcher look into this,
let me know with another clarification request, and I can have my
answer removed (and your accounte refunded) so that the question
re-opens to other researchers.
And again, sorry to come up empty-handed on your follow-up request.
