I agree with redfoxjumps. It doesn't matter.

I've worn eyeglasses for more than fifty years. The only thing I've
noticed about the folding of them is that it's not a good idea to use
a glasses case that presses tightly downward on the temple earpieces.
This can deform them and lead to premature breakage.

As far as glasses are concerned, for me the order is always determined
by which temple is less securely fastened. The one which is looser
just falls into place first, leaving thet other to be gently folded
manually.

I guess you overhand folks have never owned a cat that unravels the
TP!  LOL!  That cat is long gone.. mine is overhand right now --and I
agree, it looks better, but it's not practical in all households.
