I just need to confirm that it was Roland Barthes that famously said that paedophila and incest were the last two taboos of the twentienth century. I am not 100% sure it was him but it was from someone in his category (maybe Saussure?) I just need to confirm that he said this and in what publication or speech it was mentioned. Even if you can't find that he said it, finding that it was from a famous literary critic/philosopher would be good enough as a reference for my thesis. Cheers, hope you can help! would be eternally grateful. |

Do a search on Warren Farrell. In a famous article in the December, 1977 issue of Penthouse magazine, he called incest the "last taboo of the 20th century". Farrell is a proponent of the proposition that incest is a healthy, nurturing form of family dynamic. |
