Need manu-facturer of Shelf Pins (also called Supports) in
France.  The items can be viewed at

We are in search of Items #3, 4, 10 and 11.  Items 3 and 4 are known
as a 5 m.m. size and the finishes are nickel and brass.  Items #10 and
11 are referred to as 1/4 " size (or 6.35 m.m.).  The company who makes items is in
France and cost should be just about US$0.01 each in quantities over
25,000 or so.   Please advise.  Thank you.

their website lists neither exact sizes nor prices. Therefore, I have
decided to do the following: I will provide you contact information
for that company not as an answer, but as a comment. So you can
contact the manufacturer and inquire for the shelf pins, but don't
have to pay yet. In case it proves to be the correct manufacturer with
the correct product, just let me know in a response to this comment,

I may have to give up on the company recommended.  After calling the
tel. # I got what appeared to be a home phone #.  They suggested I
call another #.  The person at the new # was friendly, but non-english
speaking - they suggested I fax my request to them.  Subsequently, I
have sent 2 faxes and heard nothing back and it's been 2 weeks.  Is
there another company in France that might offer these products and be
easier to deal with?  Thank you in advance.

Dear widgetman,

First, I'd like to apologize. I had no idea that the behavior of that
company is so unprofessional. They are one of the oldest French
manufacturers of furniture equipment, so I assumed they knew how to
conduct their business. I am very unhappy to hear about the annoyances
you experienced.

I will start to do more research to find another manufacturer. Do you
necessarily require a French company, or could the manufacturer also
be located elsewhere in Europe?

The particular part I am in search of is made in France.  I am also
interested in similar parts that I believe are made in Germany, if
available.  The company you recommended was very ideal - as they seem
very established.  It's unfortunate that I was unable to get a reply
but perhaps they do not do much export and are troubled by the
communications, etc.

making identical shelf supports. If I don't find more, I'll provide
you their contact information (and the item numbers of the pins) as an
answer tomorrow.

Their websites do, alas, not list prices; this is unfortunately rather
common with German manufacturers.

The second manufacturer I located is Breitbach + Müller. In their
catalog, the shelf support pins are listed under "Bodenträger aus
Metal" (metal shelf supports). They make the following variants of the
pin type you are looking for, all of them in various kinds of plating
upon request:

- 6 mm diameter size, article number 42/6

- 6.33 mm (1/4 inch) diameter size, article number 42/6,33

- 5 mm diameter size, article number 41/5

- 4 mm diameter size, article number 40/4
